MOBILE MONEY ACTIVATION IN OPEN MARKETS AND NEIGHBOURHOODS IN LAGOS

Brief

Agency was expected to activate 5,376 Contacts, including Mobile Money Vendors (4,301) and Individual Wallet holders (1,075) in Lagos, and create visibility in markets and neighbourhoods in 14 days, in selected locations within Lagos.

Strategy

Agency conducted a project recce in the selected locations to identify key markets and neighbourhoods for the activation.

Agency went ahead to create a route plan and recruited 20 Brand Promoters, in two groups of 10 promoters each, to carry out face-to-face engagement, demonstration, actual activation, distribution of flyers and deployment of stickers, as well as data capture.

Result

The project achieved 5,406 activated contacts (3,599 Mobile Money Vendors and 1,807 Individual Mobile Money Wallet Holders) in 163 open markets in Lagos. Brand Promoters deployed 525 stickers with over 70% success in data capture by 20 promoters in 14 days.

The project was extended to the Silverbird Galleria and Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos, with Direct Sales Executives from Stanbic IBTC Bank engaged in the activation, which added to the success achieved at the open markets.
